Thanks for the replies guys, according to Ben ,the shock would be able to come out the top with a bit of wiggling,so will let you know tomorrow if it works. Doesn't look possible to me but will give it a try in the morning
Thanks again for your help
P.S.anyone know how to tell if you have the heavy duty spring on. Mine is marked 95-235 TT(30/13)

If it helps, the order form for bikes lists the springs as:
Std Bike below 95kg as 95-235
Std Bike above 95kg as 100-235
- which might suggest yours is the 95kg or below spring.

Surely ccm factory used the.correct weight spring for your weight and set it up for you when new...after all they aint cheap...a fat bastard on a skinny spring just wont work lol...

To adjust the preload on mine I clamped the rear of the bike down onto my work bench with a strap to fully compress the shock and put some builders cable ties round the spring. After releasing the strap I lifted the back end of the bike up in the air by tying it to a beam above my work bench. I could then adjust the preload easily and once set you just cut the cable ties. If you don't have something to clamp the bike to you could use a large friend to compress the suspension. I think I have attached the Tractive suspension file if you have not got it.
Cheers Jak

Did my shock today. Sorry my mistake, the shock comes out the bottom not the top.

Took the bottom linkage off, raised the rear wheel and the shock just ploped out. 5 minutes in the vice adjusting the alloy ring. I had to do the whole process a couple of times to get it right.
Shock is adjusted to the max (no threads left). So to set it up properly for 2up I'd need a stronger spring.
Takes about 30 minutes per time to adjust.
Only thing now is I've found some play in the linkage bushes, so I'll need to price up the bushes, sleeves and bolts to do that job.
The bike sits slightly higher now but with my 29" legs I can still reach the ground with the balls of my feet. This is the first bike I've ever tried to set up properly. Next to try and get the compression and rebound set.
Thanks again to Ben for telling me how to get the shock out.
