Stall monster! Would rather have a RFS 400 450 525 for trail riding.flipflopdog wrote:Mike, been reading up on the 350 and you just may have a really strong valid point about the 350......Mike54 wrote:DON'T buy an 08-11 400 or 450, they have the split / dual sump. The 350 still holds its value, the engine is strong. For what you want it'd be ideal - try one

^... ...I never had any problem with my '08 450 EXC-R.
The only issue I ever had was when it overheated at Enduroland when we were stuck in an old railway gully with about 40 riders in a line ahead, all struggling to get out.

Suzuki GSX-S1000F...the KTM 450 EXC-R has gone

Top trumps - 400 EXC. (I hope you still are loving my bike. You know who I mean).
200 quite a nice light bike to ride. OK but 2T mix and likes to rev.
300 Bloody rips, Loads of poke right off the bottom. just nail it. :woohoo:
350 4 stroke, current model. goes like stink, handles nice. Sort of like a smoother earlier 400 with a bit more poke, lighter and handles better.
Owned each of these. Best of all was the 400 exc. 450 exc are OK but step in the power band can catch you out if not expecting it.
Honda CRF - X. (endure not the traily). Nice and light. work fine but can be a bit fiddly to work on.

I'm pleased to report ... its still the best bike I have ever owned and I have no intention or desire to replace it with anything elsedaytona-supersport wrote:Top trumps - 400 EXC. (I hope you still are loving my bike. You know who I mean).

Although I still love my old RFS EXC450 (that's now a 525) for trail riding especially when i strip the Rally kit off of it... feels so much lighter and nimbler....
The day I bought it off Mike 54

Re: KTM 200 or 300 for green laning....????
How ironic...!!! A letter drops on the mat this morning from the NHS, my 2017 scheduled operation on my left foot has been bought forward to next month which means I wont be able to get my foot anywhere near a footpeg or gear lever for the following 5/6 months. This 350exc-f I payed £4,200 last week and parked it up in the workshop. It's gonna kill me having it standing around and I need to take this opportunity with the opp. So it's back up for sale i'm afraid and this bike is totally mint so a proper advert will go up on here and sbay next week but if anyone wants to nip this in the bud and pay me the £4,200 it's theirs and I will deliver it for the cost of fuel within sensible mileage, how's that..?!!! PM me if interested.
