I usually try and avoid buying a bike just after it's being launched as every bike seems to have a few teething problems, and not just European or Japanese. In a year hopefully all the owners will be enjoying their bike fully, and new owners will have the bike the current owners expect to have.

My latest bike has just been released but it is an evolution of a current model, so that's good

there will be stories about any bike let alone one that is "under the microscope" like the new AT. if you look at the xt660.com forum you'll think all the xt's are about to have their gearboxes explode :)

Don't bait him Mike and he'll either go away or he'll stop being so dramatic.

This is certainly true. At least once a year, I read something in the motorcycling press, or even once on Top Gear TV programme, where it was almost word for word, something I'd written on a forum. They trawl internet forums for material and some of the stuff they write is certainly not their own.
