And here's the offending part...

“This Warranty does not provide for alternative transport for the period of repair, in the event of a warrantable failure"

Seeing that the broken casing is "replaceable" is it going to be a new engine or just replacement parts?

It's in a bad way - I'm hoping for a new Engine, although that could take up to 8 weeks. The parts list (retail prices) comes to more than what the Bike is worth !

A new engine sounds about right ... so much damage to the old one, there's no knowing where all the littler bits went!

I don't think repairing the old one would be cost effective, you'd have to test ALL the other parts to ensure the shock of the failure didn't damage anything else. Lets hope Yamaha come up trumps and replace the engine without quibble... That would go a long way to ensure customer satisfaction and reinforce Yamaha after sales reputation.
