Go get a test ride. You will either "get it" with the scooter thing or wonder why it exists.

Personally I hated every second and couldn't work out why anyone would ride of the damn things but then I am sure plenty of people can't understand why I love Land Rovers.

It's a very personal thing so a test ride is a must I reckon.

Good luck (thumbs)

The Vespa GTS300 is a nice machine. Around £4,500 new. Very quick and great for around town. Sold mine due to garage space needed but I'd like to replace it one day.

Took a test-ride on a 400cc Burgman yesterday for a good 20 miles.......hmmm not sure, not great on corners and you feel every bump on the road, I came back to the bike dealer with a slight sore back.

I think I'll park that idea. I appreciate all replies, thank you.

I have had a Yam 250 Majesty and a Honda CN250. Both were good for pottering around the lanes.
But I found the rear suspension hard as they both had pivoting engines as do most smaller scooters up to and including most 400's. The hard suspension aggravated my back but was only really apparent after the ride.
Should not be a problem on the rigid engine 500cc+ machines.
However the chap that brought my CN250 had no problems using it for local commuting then going home, Weymouth to Sunderland every few weekends.
Felt a Deauville or PC800 was a better choice for me.
