Re: XT1200 S10 Engine Failure
Just Behind the Starter,
I can't find any others that have suffered any sort of failure anywhere ! Must be a "Rogue" one.

You mean the S1000XR in MCN? by 2,500 miles broken ignition barrel, two week wait for a new one, failure of camshaft hardening, bolt fell out of engine inspection cover and covered rear tyre in oil, oh well it only cost £17,289
hmy:
Re: XT1200 S10 Engine Failure
Nope not heard of that, its possible to jump timing on early models when changing tensioner but that bends valves. At those miles I think a new engine from Yamaha is in order.
The secret of a long life is knowing when its time to go.

Re: XT1200 S10 Engine Failure
I hope you get this sorted at no cost to yourself.
With still having a warranty and with such low miles you should be ok.
Just goes to show that no bikes are free from faults.
It does stand true that in today's World and like almost everything else that is built or made it is controlled by accountants and the bottom line!
Years ago is was all about build quality and over engineering.
