Re: The Cost Of Big "Adventure" Bikes!
The 'adventure' is where you go and what you do, the bike is the transport!

No, it's going to be another "you don't need a big bike to have an adventure" threadwaynecoluk wrote:I hope this isn't going to turn into another"what is an adventure" thread...

I think a few people confuse a jolly good ride on a motorcycle with an adventure.....you don't even need a motorcycle to have an adventure.AndyB wrote:No, it's going to be another "you don't need a big bike to have an adventure" threadwaynecoluk wrote:I hope this isn't going to turn into another"what is an adventure" thread...
Why can't people understand an "Adventure bike" is just a term used for a style of bike?

All I know is I bought my KTM SMT brand new 5 years ago for 8.5K if i wanted to by an equivalent bike today say a multistrada or the sd gt or a 1190 adv i would have to part with 16K, have my wages doubled in 5 years? Certainly not! so in my eyes the big adventure bikes are too costly!
Re: The Cost Of Big "Adventure" Bikes!
According to some KTM dealers the nearest equivalent to a 990 SMT is the 1050 Adventure so prices haven't really gone up much if you shop around for the right deal.Rangoonruns wrote:All I know is I bought my KTM SMT brand new 5 years ago for 8.5K if i wanted to by an equivalent bike today say a multistrada or the sd gt or a 1190 adv i would have to part with 16K, have my wages doubled in 5 years?
