What about British expats ? Are they allowed to vote by you ? Or should they have given up being Brits ? And all those people like Ralph's wife and the like, you know, the ones that keep up part of the British economy, have British born children who they'd like to have a good future ?
You live in a very narrow world Loggy.
EU. In or out?
Re: EU. In or out?
This is my bee with it too. Many voted on the basis of total bullshit, this is fraud surely?Alan29 wrote:I voted in, but there you go.
Can't shake off the feeling that the vote was twisted by lies about the 350 million quid and stopping immigration which are both being back tracked by brexit leaders. How valid is any vote where politicians barefaced lie. And what is tge point of democratic choice ehen you don't get thevtruth to decide on.
Re: EU. In or out?
Al I have to agree, after seven years of bloody hard work we have just started to turn the corner after the financial crisis created by the bankers back in 2008 and then 'the people' go ahead a dump our backsides into an even bigger mess. At least this time the 'good, honest, ordinary people' (as patronising ex public schoolboy and city trader Farage puts it, only have themselves to blame.moto al wrote:May I say. Without ridicule . WHAT Friggin MESS this country has walked it's way into . MAD. ....?????!!!!!!
Nice one 'the people', I've already been at this weekend working on a plan to try and minimise the impact on my business and the seventy of us who rely upon it to pay our mortgages, feed our families and pay a bloody great lump of tax into the country's coffers. Already waiting for the call from Boris to see is we can 'share the load' of this recession
Re: EU. In or out?
I don't think so as it was such blatant bullshit the only ones who believed it were those who were desperate to. It was pointed out time and again by dozens of varied sources (media, business, financial leader and not just In campaigners) that the £350M was so full of holes as to be a joke. However now we are told it's wasn't a joke but a 'mistake', God help us if they can't even get that huge sum right, I would prefer to think they are liars rather than that incompetent.Mike54 wrote:This is my bee with it too. They want their cake and eat it. Well tough, if you're not a British Citizen then you shouldn't have any right to vote. Simple.
Sturgeon needs to wind her neck in and STFU... If she tries to stop us getting out then I will demand the English get a vote to get rid of Scotland, expel them from the Union. The we the English can have another Referendum...
If the result is not complied with then Democracy itself would be destroyed at a stroke... Everyone who didn't like the vote outcome is trying everything to overturn it.
Some people on here need to let it go. Going on, and on and on about changing the result. You exhibit the traits of a dictator. Your way or no way. WE the people decided. So move on FFS. It's getting boring....
" I will demand the English get a vote to get rid of Scotland " are you real ?
Don't get me wrong I can't stand the woman but she may well railroad this yet, what I can't understand is why this possibilty had not been forseen by the Brexiteers ??

My sympathies to you and your workforce Trev and to all those others who are not sure how long they have now got a job for. My job I think is as secure as anyone's could be at the moment and I could go into work tomorrow and say 'I told you so' to those of my colleagues who voted out, however in the current dire circumstances I don't think I would get any satisfaction from it.
The fact that the news is now reporting a number of racist incidents in the wake of the referendum just adds to the doom and gloom.
Cheers Jak

Out of interest - if you were to go into work tomorrow and tell everyone 'I told you so'. Exactly what is it that you told them would happen has happened?Jak* wrote:My sympathies to you and your workforce Trev and to all those others who are not sure how long they have now got a job for. Re: EU. In or out?
There are interesting statistics coming through and it's not all doom and gloom:
The average EU female has just got hotter (and thinner).....
Thanks Brexit!

Re: EU. In or out?
Thanks Jak, appreciated, we don't have to panic short term as all of our hard work and re-investment in the business means we have up to date kit, a skilled and motivated team, cash in the bank, good customers and a full order book. Trouble is that has prompted some (too many) to take out loans, PCP deals on cars, mortgages, etc and even a cut in over-time will be tough on many.
Like most businesses these days we have customers both here in the UK, in Europe and further afield (note to 'the people'; we all live and work in a global economy, at least those of us who work anyway!!) who are extremely nervous over the repurcussions of last weeks decision and there will definitely be more significant consequences for us over the coming months. Having been through a business turnaround previously I'm hoping that our experience stands us in good stead this time - reduce costs, focus on core customers, keep hold of what cash we can and hope the opportunities we do go for really pay off. If not I'll drop Farage a line for a few quid of the £350M a day now that the NHS isn't getting any, hopefully there will be a bit left over from employing and training the hundreds of International trade negotiators we haven't got but now need.
