A great boxer who everyone loved watching but badly advised and should have stopped 5 years earlier.

Used to have a big poster on my bedroom wall of Ali standing over a badly beaten Joe Frazier. Some fighter ! Most of the current heavyweights couldn't lace his gloves. Hero (thumbs)

Spent a little time watching Ali fighting on You Tube this evening. He moved so very, very fast; hands and feet.

Then moved on to Tyson, completely different fighting style.

I think with Ali, it was much more than the fighting he was also brave in his private life- refusing to fight in a war he didn't believe in took 3-4 years of his boxing career (arguably his best years) from him. The wit, charm and (in later life) modesty (!) was also really something.
