Survey of UK National Parks

Post by Richard Simpson »

Is underway here

http://www.cnp.org.uk/cnp80yrs

One of the questions specifically highlights 'off-roading (driving on tracks)' as an activity that some might want to ban (along with motor boating and zipwires).

I'd urge everyone, particularly those who ride regularly in the Parks, to take part in the survey.

Use the opportunity to say that you visit the Park(s) to ride your motorcycle on Byways Open to All Traffic and unsurfaced roads.

Say one of the things you don't like about visiting National Parks is the hostility towards your legal and legitimate recreation from petty-minded idiots.

It only takes a few minutes to do the survey, so do it and get your mates to do it as well.

Feel free to share on other forums too.

Done - and you're right, everyone should complete this. I really didnt like some of the questions they are posing to be honest.

Done and agree with the above. I used the various comments bits to say so too.

Funny enough I answers before reading the replies on here
And I agreed wholeheartedly about how biased it is and I comment as such
Also made a point about byway use

Done

I also made the point about how leading some of the questions are, and emphasised that we are legitimate users of byways and that the parks were for everyone to use and enjoy!

Done.

Included sanitisation of natural and rugged network of ancient rights of way many of which often destroy the whole iconic vista and experience of what was there in the first place.

Pointed out that they had completely missed other rights of way by only mentioning paths and bride paths.

Added Touring by Motorcycle on the question where "Touring by Car" was offered as a tickbox.

As others say its biased and inconsistent but the more answers you can think of (in the "other answers" option) that expose what you see - the better.
