I am just amazed that folk can't seem to see how cheap and nasty the build quality is.
I can't imagine the fun people who have PCP are gonna have at the end of their deals trying to get the full GFV.

I don't think it'll be that bad, it looks ok to me and built okFrog wrote:I am just amazed that folk can't seem to see how cheap and nasty the build quality is.

Re: The Honda Africa twin 1000 , warts and all.
I have two 89 Hondas--a CBR600 jellymould and a NX250--to be honest there is very little corrosion on either--and the CBR lives outside under a cover. My Yamaha WR250R has lots of stainless fittingsand hardware and the build quality for a modern bike seems very good. However, The best example of build quality was both of the BMW K75Ss that I owned.
Re: The Honda Africa twin 1000 , warts and all.
I feel like build quality has dropped recent years, my nc750x built in Japan has number of spots
with corrosion traces and on swing arms paint peeling off. Also new xt660z if you look closer built quality and attention to details is far from ideal...Japan made superiority is slowly going away I believe.

I am trying to wash mine as often as possible but i know that the only way to keep it mint would be not to ride it in winter .

There wasn't the same amount as there is now. True there was tons of the stuff on the roads the other week and rain was forecast so the bloody stuff got everywhere, I had heard it's mixed with molasses? To make it stick to the road better, it certainly stays around for longer, having said that rust after 6 weeks -Ralph- wrote:There wasn't the same amount as there is now. Maybe to do with modern (eco friendly) paints. Not sure when they stopped using lead based (or what ever it was) paints. That may have something to do with older bikes standing up to corrosion better.
