When mine where thet age if I was going for a weekday ride my lads would argue over a lift to school on the back and then dare me just how far into the school I would go! :laugh:
I was born with bikes in my blood, but its such a shame I didnt pass it on! I got them both to do there CBT last month and that didnt trigger it!

In a lot of respects your lucky mate.
My youngest wrote off his Ped, and was bloomin lucky not to sustain serious injury just scar tissue; and my eldest has managed to break his fingers, tear out finger nails, along with taking the left side out of the new bike.
A a rider I know and accept that there will be spills, and a lot of thrills along the way, but as a dad, I worry.
When he's out late, or late home, I can't help it... just because they are older doesn't stop me worrying, now I know what my parents went through and I don't like it one bit.
Thank the Lord for Alpinestars leathers, and yes he was wearing gloves just the wrong ones IMHO, he was wearing a pair of Arlen Ness race gloves, which wore through, I wouldn't mind but he's got A'stars race gloves with the two outside fingers bound together to stop the over rotation and braking of the fingers, all that plus a Shoei Locatelli rep, which took the force of his face sliding down the road.
Honestly I'd prefer him in a car now, at least I'd sleep nights.
Oh and tell me to mind my own beeswax Jim, but the kid really needs to be wearing a pair of gloves, as the hands are generally the first to touch down, and will cause a lot of pain and distress if his skin his left on the tarmac.
