Suzuki DR400s k4

Hello All,

After some advice on a DRZ400S k4.

The bike comes with no lights etc or reg.
Does anyone know how easy/hard it is to fit lights to it.

The S is road legal as standard. How come it has no lights or registration ?

Is it a "Field Bike" i.e. stolen from some poor sod and ragged around for a few months before going on theifbay ?

Unless the seller can prove beyond any doubt that it's legally his, I'd steer well clear.

Are you sure its not stolen?

The bike came with all that stuff so putting it back on shouldn't be too tricky.

No it's not stolen, it's been in a barn in France for a few years with very little use.
Suzuki UK have record of it and all numbers match, No police interest so I'm not concerned with that issue.

If the loom is all intact then retro-fitting the road gear is simple and cheap pattern parts are plentiful on ebay. Very easy bike to work on.

Don't suppose the owner kept the bits? As mentioned DRZ is easy to work on. Be aware that they are extremely alluring to bike thieves, if you get it keep it out of site

Be aware that OEM parts are becoming more difficult to source and most good aftermarket parts will be found more easily in the US which means import duties.

I was at Leisure & Trail Long Eaton yesterday who used to specialise in these machines and they were telling that it is more difficult to source parts. Making them more attractive.
