Found a great video then post it up here. It doesn't have to be about bikes.

VIDEO - Dual Sport Modifications for Adventure Motorcycling

Post by Ian T-J »

With my last video achieving more that 100,000 views, its time to present my latest video:-

“ Dual Sport Modifications for Adventure Motorcycling ”

In this video I’ve outline some of the modifications I’ve made to my dual sport Suzuki DRZ ready for an off road adventure motorcycling trip to the Spanish Pyrenees mountains.
I’m sure most of the modification would suit any dual sport motorbike.
Please enjoy :)

Very professional video Ian.
Sensible mods to a sensible sized DualSporter.
Not so sure that the Pyrenese trails are anymore propper than some of the tough UK stuff.
However there are plenty of much longer ones & some spectacular scenery & maybe a bit less mud depending on the weather.
Lightness is everything.

Lightness with Grunt is a Scratcher!

Serious question... what's the difference between a 'Duel Sport'.. and an 'Adventure Bike'?

It's actually DUAL Sport which originally meant 2 (dual) sports meaning it was capable of competing in 2 disceplines in the American Flat Track / Desert Racing competitions.
Then developed to All Sport to include other types of racing.
The typical machines were the 500 cc BSA DBD34 Gold Star Catalina & the 650cc Triumph TR6 Trophies of the late 50's.
That time in America you had to ride all disceplines to carry the No.1 plate as champion for the following season. You had to be a great allround rider.
The name seems to have stuck because they were such capable bikes for their time on Tarmack, Dirt, Sand & Cinders.
Now what's an Adventure Bike is another story & penned many times between these sheets!!!!

Thanks for the reply, I've always wondered about that, it now seems that anything with knobbly tyres is call 'Dual Sport'.. and/or 'Adventure Bike', all a bit meaningless now.

By the way... it's DISCIPLINES... :P

Is that Four Marks about a minute in, how's the spares one the front fender effect the headlight beam?

Stewie - Yes Four Marks in Hampshire.
Headlight beam not an issue, I don't think I rode in the dark during the trip when I filmed in the Pyrenees. I did change the tyres for more road orientated ones to drive the return journey through France and put the new spare innertubes inside the new rubber and noted the old tubes sat flatter obscuring less of the headlight.

Sleepy - Great Dual Sport definition.
Are we moving into "On Any Sunday" territory ?????
Now there a classic film.
