A lot of people bent over backwards to help that kid out, not only on the way down to the event, but also during the event and most certainly on the way home from the event. To the point some of us had to go looking for him on more than one occasion due to him deciding to "do a flit". He has been in contact with several of us since the event, has kept in contact with one particular guy all year.

Racism interesting point brought up there was a certain man from "Northern Climbs" got a fair bit of stick as well as I remember.

cheers Spud ;)

Well I was going to post a pic of my new HISS bike but the thread has taken a bit of a twist

Sod it, I'll do it anyway

My favourite little WR has succumbed to lack of range despite several kind offers to act as fuel bowsers for the week (thumbs)

So replaced with this

WIll miss the Yam but this one could be fun

I have been in contact with Simon Over quite a few things to do with the HISS.

He has only answered the Questions that he thought were relevant at the time and has
side tracked The points that I have put in my post for some 8 weeks .

I feel by posting them hear that those attending Will either be given the proof

or will be informed of how they may stand .

For me it was always about the rides, time on the bike , showing others what there was to see ,that's why I gave my time before the 1st event was stared , and continued to do so each year .

As I said things changed when he started to run the event under the LLP.

Fair play to him for trying to make a small living out of this ,But he and others could lose every thing ,if he has not got the event covered with the relevant insurance .
Accidents happen , as he well knows , If you had seen him shitting him self after
the guy broke his leg you would know where I am coming from .

I understand the Hiss events are like this: We were a group of likeminded individuals that decided to meet up for a fun ride on a few trails.
Simon and Polly have made this easy for us by providing waypoints for us to save us getting lost and annoying the locals.
Never have I been told that we are covered by any kind of insurance, in fact it has been made abundantly clear that we are “on our own” if anything should go wrong.
The work that Simon and Polly put in to writing the guides, and checking the viability of the routes is awesome, the small fee we pay can hardly cover costs. I wouldn’t do it for the money!!
I have made so many friends over the years at Hiss events and I am sure so have Simon and Polly, this can be the only reason why they do this.

Totally agree.
What one does on the public highway & trails is of ones own volition & not in any respect connected or associated with the author of the trail guides.
The guides are priced because they have a value from hard earnt exploration, test & printing costs.
Do the publishers of maps have any responsibility to those that use them, I don't think so.
In my opinion the association with ABR is at arms length & of mutual benefit, making all of us richer in experience for it.
Spanner in the works & snake oil is unwelcome considering the ammount of enjoyment these self indulgent rallies have fostered.
Ignore these futile comments Simon & continue the good work of bringing like minded riders together for communal friendship.

We all know the risks of riding a bike with others, as far I am concerned I have just bought the routes! I twist my own throttle . if we take that stance would you help someone fix a puncture? You might be liable if it caused a crash!.cheer up and get riding . that BMW 450 looks sweet can you carry some two stroke oil as well.

I will not be attending the HISS .

I have thought long and hard about this .But what used to be a fun none profit
event has turn into a money making event.
Now running under the English LLP registered company. (trust me if some thing was to happen , you will still have your butt sued ,along with any one leading that group out on that day. )

Now as a LLP organising events in Spain ,You will be showing all who attend
your event, a copy of your PLI (Public Liability Insurance ) or have it up for all to see.

I also feel that you should be telling all that attend , should something go wrong that they should tell the local authorities that they are on an event run by you and your company, as well as informing there insurance companies.
As this will help them in the event of trying to make a claim. This will also prevent them from having there claim dismissed for false reporting ,Should it be found out at a later date .

And now running this event As a LLP company I think its time for you to give ABR some return for all the Free advertising they have kindly given you over the last few years .

I also feel that your attitude towards the racist bullying of one of your paying clients
last year was unforgivable. Even though the person in question just laughed it off.

I do wish all that attend to have fun and a safe trip
I was happy to meet you last year and we had quite a few chat's, I have a good idea how much work you put in to helping Polly and Simon get the HISS of the ground.

I also know quite a bit about the LLP business and that business is Simons concern and his accountants and no one else's.

With regards to Simon's free Publicity from ABR I would of thought that was a matter between ABR and Simon how much publicity is the site and the mag getting from it's association or not with the HISS I know how many people I have told about these threads and therefore the site and therefore the mag.

I have already made my comment about any racist bullying that may or may not of gone on and the amount of work a small group of us put into one individual, work that including Simon as well.

It's a shame you can't make it as you have a wealth of knowledge to pass on to the likes of me, take care mate

cheers Spud ;)
