Tricky one this

For years i had just one my Dr350
With 2 sets of `wheels it was my tourer, commuter, and trail bike.
Always enjoyable at what ever it did
However last year I added an 650 Africa Twin to the stable (Lusted after one of these for the last 20 years)
Now I am a very happy man ( The DR is now left set up as the trail machine)
2 is enough for me!
Funds and pressure from the other half may force me back to one.
That's not a decision I would enjoy as they are both fantastic machines :pinch:

I currently have three but by next weekend I'll be down to two. That will be the least I've had for many years, I got up to five at one point.

Will I be able to stick with just the two (DR650 & Dr350), time will tale but at the moment I feel happy with that.

I think its just a case of how many one can afford , why would you not have loads of bikes if you can afford them and have a place to keep them.. ? When I want a new bike I don't really think about selling the old one

So a 600cc offroad bike is a mismatch and in reality is good at neither
Off topic slightly
I have to disagree a bit with this JB
Riding a large capacity trail bike on the lanes only adds to the challenge, and keeps you on the ball,
I have had a dr350 in my workshop for over a year and have not used it as it's just too easy
If the conditions are so difficult that a full blown enduro bike is needed ,one should question whether the lane should be ridden at all,or the ability of the rider
In my opinion there is no place for competition bikes on the byways and trails of the uk
I'll stick to my 650 for trails and off road B)

How many bikes do I need?

None in reality as they are only really used for my hobbies.

But three is a good number. One that's in bits. One that works and one that I've broken.

Or

One custom, one small trail bike and one adventurer.
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

Suzuki DR200 Djebel.
