Memory Cards - Class 10 vs. UHS-I: What's the Difference

Hello. Recently i bought a class 10 sandisk memory card for my hd ghost drift
It was faulty, so i sent it back. I asked me techy mate what he thought i should get.

He mentions SDHC - UHS-1 instead of class 10 ( the standard for video)
I've never heard of them, but after a bit of research....

There is a difference, when the going gets tuff, ie theres lots going on, it seems to be much better.

anyone else heard of these, as all i ever got told was class ten, didn't know there was other options....

Fairly new format. GoPro have certain UHS-1 Cards listed and recommended for their range.

The one that came with my H4 (GoPro Offer) is a UHS-1

From what read somewhere UHS-1 is equivalent or better than Class 10.. i use 4 x Sandisk Extreme 64gb with my gopro hero 3+ (bought from Mymemory.co.uk)and none of them have ever missed a beat

There are a lot of fakes out there, especially on ebay. Many get caught out by a bargain.

Always buy from a reputable source (thumbs)

Is one faster than the other? Would be nice speeding up the process of reading maps on a gps
