That is a bute.. You only live once, if you have the cash go for it.
I feel beneath the white there is a red skin suffering from centuries of taming.

TBH, whenever I've bought anything, it's about whether I'm comfortable with the price I've paid for something I want. If I am, I'll buy it.
If it's what you want and you don't think you're overpaying, then go for it. If you think there's a better deal to be had if you wait, then best you keep looking.
Blooming nice bike though

Re: The saga continues
You'd be better starting off with a TR25W single. Powerful for a 250 and looks great. Best of all, you should be able to pick up a mint one for around £2500 and prices are not going to fall on these. Only issue was the big end due to the high compression, so get one that's had the big end replaced and have fun. If you haven't ridden a bike with a right hand gear change it takes a couple of rides before it becomes natural. I quite fancy a TR5 too, but when I look at the prices I just don't think that it's justified.

Re: The saga continues
I learn't to ride in the late 60s on Bantams & C15s then graduated onto a 68 Bonneville so I'm hoping that going back to R/H gear change wont be to much of a chore finding a TR5T at the right price but not needing to much work is proving to be difficult your TR25 is a nice bike if I don't get a TR5T I would go for a B50 I think?
Roughish TR5Ts on ebay are fetching over £5K & the parts they need are expensive & getting harder to find.

Re: The saga continues
A local lad has both B25 and B50 says his B50 is easier to start as it has a decompressor whereas you have to kick the B25 over compression, though he has no trouble starting either bike.
The late 750/650 Triumphs have LH gearchange but not many offroad styled bikes. I was thinking of TR5T then toyed with getting a late 750 (cheaper) bike and offroading it but no one seems to offer any parts like high level pipes.
So I brought a CT90 instead!!

Re: The saga continues
If I get a TR5T I will fit high level pipes but keep the original for returning to standard at some point the only non standard thing it has is some nice alloy rims but that doesn't bother me.
