I think mine is gravel tracks (on an Enduro Bike) I did the Kielder rally last year and I guess a good 70% was gravel. Also our trip through the Balkans earlier this year had some great gravel. I prefer up hill or flat rather than down hill.
Don't mind crossing a city either, again on an Enduro bike, slim and light with low speed balance and manoeuvrability to filter through traffic.
I guess we all like uncluttered A and B roads through dramatic scenery. But for me it has to be miles of twisty loose gravel.
My least favourite are motorways (unless they are grid locked and I can smugly filter through).

Re: Your Favourite Kind Of Riding
I like routes through mountains, and following rivers and coastlines. Uphill is always better than downhill.

Re: Your Favourite Kind Of Riding
I personally like wider trails, gravelly is good, ruts bad, not bothered about doing 50+ mph on flat trails, prefer more technical uphill stuff (doesn't mean I'm any good at it).
On road sections I quite like the smooth, fast flowing twisties than the tight, dangerous narrow B roads.

Big Alpine passes with a mixture of fast bends and tight hairpins along with good views.
I hate roadworks where the top layer has been ripped off and you have to ride on a broken surface with what are effectively tramlines pulling the bike all over the place.

+1 with Ruts. I don't mind mud, but when it drys bone hard with deep ruts I hate it. When I am off roading it this country I always fight the temptation to run off the track and I keep to the ruts, thereby not widening the trail and pissing the non-biking public off.

Any road which leads to mountains and panoramic vistas whether it's dirt or tarmac
Off road, my favourite trails to date are those I did in NZ - miles and miles of dirt with the occasional ford and rocky sections to keep your mind on the game (thumbs)

Re: Your Favourite Kind Of Riding
On my current bike I like roads that give you the feeling of being on a rollercoaster. Dips and rises that aren't sharp enough to throw you off but you can feel the G force compressing the suspension in the dips....great fun. If off road I would say uphill every time, not too many rocks either.

Open your eyes and you see what is in front of you, open your mind and you see a bigger picture but open your heart and you see a whole new World.

Mine is quite simply when I nail a corner and get it absolutely spot on, then exiting with a big smug grin. YEEHA! :woohoo:
