Dependsnon route down but I go caen, lemans, samaur, stop over for night at st jean d'Angely great campsite and village , then south to bordeaux and either biaritz or lourdes and over thenpyrenees..
All depends on disembarcation point in uk .. In summer the french roads are terrible.

The Municipal site at Availles Limousin is about 15 miles from Limoges, right alongside the river in a beautiful setting and only 10 miles from Oradour sur Glane...beautiful setting.. has all the basic facilities and for a bike a tent I think they charged e5 per night.....

( nice little bakery a short walk from the site too..)

Last time I did that run we stayed in a budget hotel on a Limoges industrial estate, so can't help with camp site. But I can recommend a visit to Oradour sur Glane, if youre on the road by 9 you'll have plenty of time to visit for an hour or two and get down to the Pyreneees by late afternoon.
