im not sure, but i do have a funny story. few years back there used to be a bike meet at holton heath industrial estate where loads of bikes gathered to pull wheelies and stoppies just for fun really.
one particular day i turned up on my xjr1300, pulled out on to the straight and popped a fat wheelie up to the roundabout, i thought everyone was cheering me on and enjoyed the roar of excitment until i reached the roundabout and there was a bike cop sat there shaking his head at me lol.
he pulled me over in front of everyone and started to give me the head master treatment. asking my name and other stuff. then he seemed to start talking to me as if we were familiar with each other, i was confused until he said take your helmet off. as i did he took his off too, hahaha as it turns out we were good mates at school. he was going to throw the book at me till he realised we were old mates. anyway we chatted for a bit and then he said ok as ive let u off pete, do me a favour and tell all your mates over there that u got nicked hahaha. of course i didnt tell them that. i wanted them to hear the funny side (thumbs)
i only need one wheel .......... the rear

Pal of mine nicked for a wheelie.
Two year ban and take an extended test after that.

They did clock him at speeds upto 120mph while following him, all on the back wheel. :woohoo:

It depends who stops you and where, both which county and whereabouts in the county. 99% sure that you wouldn't be arrested unless there was something else going on. What would be their necessity to arrest you if everything else was in order? Of course, they'd probably want to interview you and even at the roadside they must ask if you want a solicitor/legal advice. It then depends on whether they have video of your antics or it is just them witnessing it. Every case dealt with on its own merits. Bear in mind that the vast majority of magistrates may not be anti bike but will certainly know bigger all about them and will obviously go down the route of "it is made with two wheels, how much control does the average joe have on one wheel?"
I'd simply avoid doing one (easy for me as I have always been hopeless at them...)

depends on the copper imo

the copper that pulled me was pretty tough but fair which is cool cos i was being a knob,i just admitted so and explained the zx10 had such immense power and i over rolled the throttle too hard and vamoosh up she went and in a frightened state i froze the throttle (thumbs)

and his response was "what for that long"

he ripped me to shreds and basically told be to get fecked and stop being a twat

I was reading in the paper a few months ago, of a biker that did a wheelie along the road,

someone in car saw him doing the wheelie and call the cops,

cops pulled the biker over a few miles down the road, the biker denied he was doing wheelies, but he was handcuffed and arrested on the spot, and he was taken to the police station,

it turned out later, that the biker they arrested, wasn't the same one that was doing the wheelies, he was just out for a spin on his bike, and was in the wrong place at the wrong time :P

if you want to do wheelies find an industrial estate or take it to the track

i was at h cafe in oxford sometime ago and watched an r1 wheelie off the rounabout and come down on the back of a mondeo estate and that was in front of about 200 people so you can imagine the reaction he got after he was finished picking the pieces up
