I'd think they'd be open by then, great pass's by the way.
The Swiss bikers have the golden triangle. You go into a village, the out on 1 road and round 3 great pass's and back into the village. Don't ask me the name of it though as I was just following our Swiss tour guide ;-)

Is that it's name? I just remember crapping myself as we came over the top of the last pass and found they hadn't modernised the other side, went from nice wide road to a road that just seemed to be 1 1/2 vehicles wide and no barrier on my side :woohoo: I'm not good with heights at the best of times.

Last year the high passes you mention didn't open until well in to the beginning of June due to significant late snow fall.

That time of year is a bit of a lottery as they only tend to open them at the beginning of June anyway.

That's the Gotthard Pass, if you go west out of Andermatt that's the Furka Pass which is probably more impressive.

I was in Andermatt for the 2nd week in June last year and only 2 of the passes were open. This was the 11th June. The weather was horrendous and even the ones that were open were hazardous with very low cloud. The temperature was aboute 3 degrees in Andermatt and around the local passes. We were meant to stay in Andermatt for a few days and tour around there but ended up going through the tunnel and going down into Northern Italy where the weather was fantastic.
The Stelvio had opened the day before at lunch time and we went a couple of days later. The snow was piled high at the side of the road and was snowing really bad at the top. We got the cable car to the very top but had to come down due to the heavy snowfall. It was like January!!
I really want to go again but wouldnt do it again until July to be safe.

Take a look at some of the many Tour companies schedules to get an idea of when they run tours into the Alps, as they will try and guarantee the passes are open. Most of them don't run the Swiss Alps tours until mid-July. Also, be careful of traffic. The peak holiday season is around early July-August. I was in the Swiss Alps a few years back on the Gotthard and it was very busy with tourist traffic. I want to return some day but so I'm going to stay in Andermatt, get up early and ride the passes before afternoon to avoid the 'ma and pa' lot.

Grab a copy of the John Hermann Alps and beyond book, he recommends Andermatt as a base and has all the pass routes. Worth the money IMO.
