That why I love this forum....... lots of calming, reasonable and helpful crap to answer any question.
I have realised that she does NOT have a hobby or pastime to fill in her me time. Thats the problem. She doesn't know what to do for herself, and as I mentioned that within our little discussion (in front of friends), I am at the receiving end of the 'look' for the past 12 hours. No words..... just the look. You know the one gents.

I have no problem with her coming with me, I even got her to take her CBT a few years ago, but now its a case of, doing things together and any plans to do trips of any kind over a day or so, are nuked.

Its stressful times at work etc that I get the photo of my wife out of my wallet, I take a few minutes to reflect and realise that after being married to this psycho for over 20 years I can do anything !

On a lighter note, has anyone else noticed the nice trick Mother Nature plays on us in long term relationships?

I've noticed that as Mrs Jelly has got wrinkly, my eyesight has started to deteriorate. Result :laugh:

Sure she can fill her me time with food shopping, cleaning the house, the washing and ironing. And to fill it a little more how about cutting the lawn and cleaning the car. (thumbs)

My wife normally speaks to me from two rooms away with closed doors and then wonders why I don't know about something. Either that or she has told her mother or sister and then thinks she has also told me even though I am not in the house. Selective hearing - there is also selective communication by the new medium of telecommunication. The only problem is that it only partially works, it works perfectly on her side, just doesn't work from my side.

Well I was into bikes prior to meeting my now ex wife, after 10 years of marriage, she decided she had, had enough of travling the world vising places like Hong Kong, Cyprus!!

Then the final straw was riding the bike to from Germany instead of the Boat train.

my GF at the moment, enjoys riding her own 125 till she passes then wants a bigger bike, (I got her a SV650), she loves going away touring, hates shopping & football lol

she wants to pass her Test so when we go touring she can take her bike & carry some of the gear, (now thats nice) (thumbs)

She knew when she met me I rode a bike, & prefer being on a bike than in a car, & accepts that.

I have to accept that she now has her first granddaughter & she sometimes will baby sit, while mun works PT, I also have to accept if we are visiting mates for a meal / drinks it means by car not bike.

I can live with all of that & if I do get POed with her or visa versa, I can just go to my house or she hers :laugh:

My husband usually goes on four two week bike trips every year, plus weekends away at bike rallies and meets, even camping throughout the winter!
When he's not on shift he usually goes down the pub a couple of times with his biker mates and comes home absolutely shitfaced.
He goes to 4 or 5 rock concerts a year.
He disappears to the bedroom at different times of the day.
He rides his trail bike and trials bike whenever he has the spare time to and when it's chucking it down with rain and he has nothing to do, he will happily walk around bike shops for hours on end.

And me, what do I do??

I do it all with him
We are best mates, drinking buddies, travelling partners......pure soul mates

I have to agree with bonniebird, not all women like shopping or watching soaps, my husband has always ridden and when he got the opportunity to go touring in europe a few years ago with some mates I encouraged him to go since then he's been twice with his mates the only dangerouse thing about this was he was bitten very badly by the travel bug! since then he has encouraged me to get riding and after being pillion for two of our trips I had enough of looking at the back of his head and went on to pass my test and now ride regularly. I know that I am very lucky but if he is reading this I still do not like alpine pass's! (thumbs)

I'm in a similar situation where Claire wants to start coming to rallies with me, but I like doing the offroad ride outs (I wont take her pillion offroad) and that means she will be left on a camp site alone for the whole day.
