Big Blingy Over-complicated Adventure Bikes Ridden By Tw@ts With Too Much Money.

Over the last three months I have mostly ridden smaller Enduro bikes, Drz400, KLX450, KTM 690r.
Yesterday was a pretty decent riding day, so I thought I'd take the 690 over the single track roads of North Lancashire/North Yorkshire/Cunbria and end up at Devils bridge for a brew.
As I was wheeling the 690 out of the garage I looked across at my GSA. Covered in ACF50, waiting patiently for my big trip to Ukraine in May.
Go on then I thought, I'll take the Panza. It felt big and unwieldy manuvering out of the garage, it was like a super tanker negotiating the two mini roundabouts in Clitheroe.
But, once I'd locked into it, on the tight and undulating single track moorland roads of North Lancashire, the bike came alive. 30 odd years of progressive development must count for something. I could not have been on anything better.
Comfortable, surefooted and plush.
I may be a tw@t on an unnecessarily expensive, complicated, over-hyped piece of unreliable Bavarian Bullshit, but my God I was one happy Tw@t!

I ride because it makes me happy. Some of the TRF guys ride ancient sidecar outfits off road, the only reason is because of the smile it gives them.

You obviously have no need of the 690 then so I shall do the gentlemanly thing and free up the space in your garage for more toura tech bits, and free of charge as well!! :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

I'll have a go.

Been riding bikes since I was 16, back in 1976, don't own a car but have a Harley and a Triumph.

I wanted a Harley since the 70's but could never afford one, then when I could I was put off by the wannabees and didn't want to be tarred with the same brush. Then about 10 years ago I though sod it, I want one, I'm a big boy and I don't care what other people think so I got one. I'm now on my 3rd and it's great fun, ok it's a bit of a barge compared to my Tiger but it does a different job and will hustle along quite nicely - admittedly it drags the footrests on most corners. I've had loads of bikes over the years, from old brit iron, chops, sports bikes, tourers and every one I bought because I wanted it.

I ride what I ride for me, not for anyone else. When I lived in Spain I rode a moped because it did the job and I had as much fun on that as anything else I've ever had.

Don't care what anyone thinks, I ride what I want, when I want and where I want.
