Remembrance Ride 2013

Post by James691 »

Not sure how many know about this going on?

Facebook Registration
All bikers will leave their chosen services to all be on the M25 at 12.30 or from a slip road onto the M25. Our aim is to form a red circle, making the biggest Poppy in the World around the M25 CLOCKWISE with us all wearing poppys and something RED over your jackets. We need to be on the M25 for at least half an hour giving everyone around time to catch up with those in front.Once the logistics of that have been worked out there will be speed restrictions from each service station so we can catch up with others. Will it work? dont know, but lets try.

If you intend to come please go on Ali Scotts post on facebook and tick which Junction you intend to go onto the M25 Cheers. This ride is intended to present a physical show of support for our Armed Forces, both current and previous. Not every biker goes to a remembrance service on this day, but I do know that they Respect our armed service men and women. This is just another way of showing it.

more info from organisers

For those who missed the interview last night here is the latest news about the Ride. The meeting with the Police and USR went very well although, we dont, and will not really have any idea how many bikes will be coming, as not everyone is on FB, but with the knowledge we do have at the moment you are coming in your thousands.Again a lot depends on the weather and we have to allow for that. Many people are watching forums and club news about information. We more a less have the logistics worked out but again on the day they may change a little. All we ask is that you follow the riders infront. No overtaking, if they are riding single file leaving a gap of say 2 cars then please do the same. If they are riding staggered formation please do the same. No useing the hard shoulder to stop. Please do not hang about on rounderbouts to wait for the ride to come along ,just please go onto the M25 at min speed of 50 and wait for the ride behind to catch you up and the URS will overtake you so you will be behind him. I hope you get the drift of this now. If the USR starts to speed up please do the same. The Police say they cannot assist but we have other resources of out riders that have come forward to help if you turn up in your 30.000s. Can we do this "HELL YES" but we MUST do it as safe as possible and NOT cause disruption. we would like to encourage the public to go to a foot bridge or a rounderbout with a path and wave to us as we ride by. We envisage bikes doing only a quarter of this circuit to acheive this Ring of Red and then the overhead gantries will show up telling us that we have acheived our goal. Keep sharing and keep informing the forums that you have already posted on of our updates. Needless to say everyone loves the idea (apart from just a couple of moaners). Well done and thankyou. Patches will be available soon and hopefully a pic of the patch will be going up today and info of how to order will soon be posted. Cheers everyone,I must admit this is going to be a Ride we will never forget.
