Home after a very interesting ride back to Calais which included a river crossing on a small ferry & fording a small river in a small French hamlet. Thanks to Tim for suggesting a ride back to Calais not using any motorways made it with an hour to spare to catch the ferry.
A very big thanks to Nic for organising the weekend really enjoyed it & got to see some of Germany that I wouldn't have seen normally. Am already looking at ear marking next years one on the calendar so I can see what I missed as I think it's going to take a couple of visits to see it all properly. Thanks again Nic all your effort was appreciated.

To all my fellow ABR riders thanks for a great weekend it's was great to meet you all. Hopefully none of you will be strangers & see you all again soon. Just as soon as my tent & doss bag dries out. But as they say a wet day out on the bike is better than a good day at work.

Happy riding everyone see you all soon

Me and Kiwi Nick had a great day yesterday. Met up with most of you at the Eder then we made our way to the Mohne. After that was a trip through some stunning forest area before we hit the autobahns. At one point we went up and hit some real cold air before the sun put in an appeaarance. The last bit to Rotterdam was in brilliant hot sunshine. Pity when we arrived in Hull this morning some arsehole set off a fire alarm and kept us stuck on the ferry for an extra hour.

Great to meet up and make some new friends and reacquaint myself with some old ones (Tez and Sylv). Chris Jones is now my favourite mad Welshman and hope he made Berlin OK. Moussis you are also a hoot.

See you all sometime soon. Jason and Jim I'll sort those DVD's out. Please post loads of pics you lot as my camera didn't work and I need photos to remind of the fun we had when I'm sat in the office dreaming of better days.

As Africa John said, the Africa boys made it back yesterday. It was great to meet so many like minded (not mad!) people whom have a passion for adventure touring. I certainly enjoyed the whole experience (and my first ABR meet).

A big thanks goes to Nick for organising and guiding us on Dams Day.

I have some pics so will post them in the coming days.

Nick: I'll PM you about NZ, got some good news for you.

cheers
Nick....may change name to KiwiNick :woohoo:

Shiny side up everyone.... ;)

I got back home last night after a fantastic few days riding through France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Belgium and France.

First of all a massive thanks must go to Nick for organising a great event. The past few months haven't been easy ones I'm sure and to pull this off was a big ask - I'm sure we all really appreciate your efforts Nick, THANK YOU!

Next I'd like to thank Jim, Tim, Brian and Jason for your company over the weekend, it was a pleasure to spend the days riding with you. Thanks also for your patience on the umpteen U-turns on the rides - we got there though

Thanks to everyone else that came along and helped to make this weekend really good, Big Al and the Welsh lads, you made me laugh 'til it hurt on occasions, cant wait to see the picture of the van on the dam! And we'd also like to know what happened to the Travel Pussy????

Thanks should also go to Chris (Sprinty) and Ash for leading the ride on Saturday. It was a shame we didn't get to complete the circle on Sunday.

Here are a few of my pictures.
