i guess its what the market demands and what sells
the other point is that to lower a bikes weight is far more difficult than increasing it ..and far more expensive too ..i mean they arnt putting it on on purpose but they have to build them to a price that can sell
alloy frames and titainum cases cost money and the vast b majority want faster a road presence so by its very nature a bigger heavier engine .. so i think we //i will be waiting a long time for that dream adv bike
the new mid tenere will happen ..im told by people in the know ..
when it does ypou can bet it will move up in power and weight and price to go head on with the gs and tiger 800 ... bummer
ktm have the recipie pretty much now but for me went to far towards the enduro route ..its tru that a lot of lads are packing them in to the back of vans before riding ..hey nothing wrong with that but it kills the concept somewhat
.. we still are waiting for a new 640 adv type bike but the roumer squad are very quiet on that so far im afraid ..the new 1190 isnt inspiring confidence that the big orange are moving in my direction ..but i hope they do
i wonder what apprilia could have done with a less stressed version of the vee twin mx 450 engine in a adv framed bike
lighter than a drz motor kicking out 60hp ..how about 50hp on a 150kgm bike that would chug along alright
