2008 BMW R1200 GS ADVENTURE MU REDUCED FOR QUICK SALE £8249! Lots of Extra Goodies
BMW R1200 GS ADVENTURE 2008 MU – IMMACULATE CONDITION WITH 26,256 MILES ON THE CLOCK
This is a very reluctant sale of my beloved bike, which is the best bike I've ever owned, and I've owned a fair few! I am based in Nottingham, the second owner and have had the bike for about a year and a half. It comes with a full service history, I took possession of the bike with 17,000 miles on the clock; up to that point all services were done by a BMW dealer (Vines). The bike was serviced by me (I’m a trained mechanic) at 20,000 and a major service at 24,000 which included: spark plug change, engine oil, gear box oil, final drive oil, greased drive shaft spline, brake fluids, valve clearances and an air filter change - I fitted a K&N filter, you won't need to change the filter ever again, just wash and go! - so this bike has had plenty of TLC.
Comes with 12 months MOT and 6 months road tax.
The bike comes with all the BMW extras, which include:
- Onboard computer
- ABS brakes
- Traction control
- Electronic suspension adjustment
- Auxiliary lights
- Tyre pressure sensors
- Heated hand-grips
- BMW lockable panniers (key coded, each pannier can be locked from both ends and one key required for both the panniers and ignition)
To buy this bike new in 2008 with all these extras would have cost you just shy of £15,000 pounds!
I have increasingly heavy work commitments, which is resulting in this bike being polished in my garage more than it is being ridden; namely, the reason for the sale.
Touratech extras that are included (the prices quoted below reflect what I paid for these items from new):
- Mesh headlight guard £85.35
- Fork protectors £34.07
- Hand guards £167.21
- Clutch reservoir guard £24.96
- Brake reservoir guard £24.96
- Instrument console surround with power socket £45.47
- Sump guard £170.81
- Potentiometer guard £29.51
- Petrol line protectors £62.56
- Side panels (which I think really finish off the look of the bike, not protection I know) £193.60
- Oil cooler guard £56.86
- Side stand base extension £28.37
- 2 Litre Fuel bottle and bracket £25.07 / £12.00
- 1 Litre fuel bottle bracket (the red bottle on one of the pictures is for my camping stove so is not for sale) £20.40
- Hub cap cover £14.70
- Handle bar mount bracket £45.47
- Frame protector £47.74
- Pivot point cover £24.96
- Rear brake switch guard £28.04
OTHER EXTRAS:
- Custom seat made by 'Custom Motorcycle Seats' in Coventry. Seat is slightly lower that standard but can be raised if needed (I am 5' 8"), the seat is super comfy; I rode 3,000 miles in 11 days on a trip around Europe last year - no probs! £300
- Fitted Mitas E07 Dual sport tyres to give that ‘mean’ look - fantastic tyres, have done 5,000 miles on them with about 2,500 left. I removed the rear plastic guard but still have it so will be throwing it in the sale.
- Dip/Main/Auxiliary lights changed for ‘High intensity discharge’ lighting (Original lights are poor), check out www.hid50.com for more information £400
- I covered the panniers in non-slip black vinyl (this material is used on boats) to protect the panniers and also I'm sure you'll agree, looks in keeping with the bike.
- The bike comes with a spare key.
- Crud catcher £46.00
- Frame bung £12
TOTAL PRICE I PAID FOR ALL OF THE ABOVE EXTRAS IS: £1,900
Items NOT included in this sale - I am of course willing to negotiate on the price of the SatNav and, or bracket if you're interested:
- Garmin Zumo 660 - worth £430
- Touratech handle bar mount - worth £131.04
You will be lucky to find another bike in this condition with this amount of spec ready for an adventure around the world or alternatively, the most fun you can have with your clothes on during your commute to work...!
THE PRICE IS: £8249
Bike can be viewed at any mutually convenient time whilst on sale. Happy for the bike to be collected ‘unseen’ upon organizing your own courier.
Give me a call if interested and I’ll be happy to discuss the bike with you, cheers.
Any questions, please call me – Jason on 07805 635 796
