We came across a great place when returning home from the Ullapool ABR Rally last year at Loch Chon in the Queen Elizabeth Forest, Sterling, just off the B829.

It was down a small track, opening into a fairly good clearing which was beside the shore.

I have some photos but can't post at present if you want I can post them later when I have access to them together with some GPS co-ordinates, if I still have it logged on the Garmin

Here's a few links...

http://www.applecross.uk.com/campsite/

Campsite where ABR rally is held in Ullapool..

If in Ullapool area - I'd recommend visiting Achiltibuie if weather is good - for evening view over to the Summer Isles - there's a pub in the area that has a campsite - can't remember name - or hire a log cabin for maybe £50/night or cheaper.

The Camping site at Strontian is very bike friendly and has good facilities for bikers ,especially if the weather turns a bit iffy :)
