Bike Lift

i have had one for YEARS! Brilliant for my KTM 250/400 but Poo for my Husquvarna TE400 as it it too high and you have to man handle it on> once its on its good but the idea it to stop mauling the bike, its a lift!!!!. Check the height before buying.

I know it's cheap but I was hoping for some other advantages.

DR350 should be OK on it...not do sure about the Alp (But that has a centre stand..if I'm feelin' strong enough).

Waddya think?

i had one of those, it didnt fit under the XT600 either and the bike fell off it as i was doing up the rear axle nut, and it was strapped down too so youve been warned.
in the end i used the same ratchet strap to winch the bike up from the garage rafters, worked loads better

I have the exact same stand and it is just flimsy sh1te and that is only when being used for lightweight MX bikes. i tend to try and NOT use it nowadays as a bike has fell off it more than once

I have another similar type and that isn't much better

I am also looking into treating myself to a scissor style lift with a wider base and frame hooks to hold the bike still on the plate

I shoulda sorted this more quickly but.....christmas and all that.

Got to drop the front wheel in to my local garage...they said it wasn't seated properly...part of my MOT fail.

Baby trolley jack, piece of 3x2(ish) and two axle stands...

Precarious, and we've all cocked up something like this in the garage befeore eh? hmy:

if i were you i'd go for a hydraulic lift, something like this:

That looks like a decent piece of equipment. Pick up thr Alp as well.

no worries. you might be able to find one cheaper as well. think i got mine for about £65, but then it was a while ago...

and obviously the bike still needs to be strapped down, but once it is you can wheel the whole lift and bike around, within reason...

Very little assembly required...It's already been thrown together with pins and spring clips.
Safety stop lugs too small to trust and one side not engaging.....twisted it to work.

Quality?...Chinese but adequate, I think/hope.

Tried once quickly on the DR350 and doesn't get the back wheel off the ground but it's workable. Lot of travel on the DR I suppose.
Lot steadier than my usual lash up.

They make a more heavy duty one that lifts the same weight but has a wider base and lifts about 4cms higher....would've been better and I was tempted, just didn't want to crowd the garage more than necessary.

Haven't tried it on the Alp but I think it'll get that off the deck (has a centre stand anyway).

The Americana interested me but seemed to take up a lot of space....what do I know eh ? :huh:
