Excellent report, thanks Mike and co B)
"The trails of the world be countless, and most of the trails be tried.

You tread on the heels of many, till you come where the ways divide.

And one lies safe in the sunlight, and the other is dreary and wan, Yet you look aslant at the Lone Trail, and the Lone Trail lures you on....

....Bid good-bye to sweetheart, bid goodbye to friend, The Lone Trail, the Lone Trail, follow to the end.

Tarry not, and fear not, chosen of the true;

Lover of the Lone Trail, The Lone Trail waits for you"

Great pics Mike, my sort of day! Although I would love to take the credit for the ride, it was Elefantman (Ian) who was riding the 750 Cagiva Elefant ;)

cheers Marc

Sorry Marc (and Ian). I should know who's who by now. At the Midlands I was refering to Ian as Marc, and only when we were leaving did my wife say "You do know his name is not Marc dont you?". So Ive told everyone who asked at the weekend than Ian was actually 900FantRider!

No problem to me Mike apart from I have all the hair :whistle: (sorry Ian ;) ) but I just wanted to make sure he took the credit for taking an ageing beast round! It was the bike I did the Stella on last year though :)

But the fun started when it was Coasty's turn. This has to be the best photo Ive ever taken. Id like to say Coasty planned to do this, landed and screamed to the top.

Just heard from Ian. Apparently the fall on Rudland Rigg took its toll, and a trip to hospital on Sunday was required. An operation and 3 days later he is out, but now in plaster for 12 weeks.

Hope you heal well Ian. Respect for continuing riding the trail....then walking (hobbling) a mile each way to the pub. And then riding home!

Mike, Hey, Thanks for the great ride. Marc - sorry I didn't get to see you on way home...thing is, as Mike has just posted - I'd hurt my leg during the offs on way up Rudland Rigg. Called in at A&E on way home and it seems I'd completely severed my Achilles Tendon. So, after a few nights in hospital and surgery, I'm now home and looking forward to 12 weeks in plaster and 6 months before I can 'do anything active' again. :(
Suppose that gives me time to clean the bike.
Anyone know any good reading material?
