Stella Alpina Rally

Post by b1kerb0y »

Tell me about this rally... I'm seriously considering going on this next year. Motorway all the way down? Or spend a couple days using back roads etc etc? As much information as possible please :cheer:

Hi,

Here are links to my trip in 2006 and 2007. A pity I've not been for 5 years :(

Looking through my notes I reckon the best bet is slow eastbound and fast back home. It is worth mentioning that there are plenty of worthwhile roads and trails across France if you have the time to dawdle.

You'll notice I'm a softie and prefer a comfortable bed to camping, but that is another choice to make!

Good luck, perhaps 2013 for me too?

Link to our 2012 stella.

We also rode the Jafferau trail which is a superb trail in the same area,on the way home we headed north and did the Stelvio pass.

Fantastic event and well worth it.

Hi Bonniebird, just read your Stella report again. Looks like you had alot of fun. Just one question, how long did the trip last. Cheers Jed

Hi Jed,
My trip lasted 8 days, planning on taking longer next year with some trail riding in the Pyrenees on the way down , then Monte Jafferau either before of after the Stella Alpina B) ........and I may just have to ride the Stelvio again :silly:
