Just thinking out load again, but what about a donation from the enterants of a couple of quid which could be donated to our unsuspecting hosts the Natural Trust?
I wouldn't mind donating and I'm sure ABR could get a photo opportunity and a little write up in the mag.

That is a great idea mate the only thing is doing something as a focused charity would require the feelings of the riders on who the charity should be if it was for an ABR charity. The Natural Trust will get money from all the riders buying bacon butties and a coffee at the locations. They get exposure of their efforts from the visits as well as the forstry commission locations.mark1150 wrote:Just thinking out load again, but what about a donation from the enterants of a couple of quid which could be donated to our unsuspecting hosts the Natural Trust?

I know where you are coming from mate and I applaud it but I'd like to aviod 'charging' riders to do anything.
Riders may well have limited time to do other charity events and use this to help a charity that is very personal to them so I left that option open.
How about a possible compromise - I can open a justgiving page for Adventure Bike Rider Nature Rally 2011 for the National Trust (with Alun's permission) - Then if riders want to donate, they can and be secure that the money goes direct to the charity with the added tax relief.
It's just getting in the realms of PR and I am also keen to aviod anyone feeling pressured to donate!

I see what your saying James, and on reflection agree.
By the way I must have missed the anouncement in which you've turnred away from normal bike gear in favour of a PARKA!
Well done on becoming a Mod mate.
