Where's the best place you've been to in a car and wished you were on yer bike ?

In the mountains between Tunisia and Algeria when i was on honeymoon in 2006, didn't get the road - just the crash barrier! But what a road :woohoo: the tarmac was sssoooo smooth and full of hairpin bends....we went up and down in a landcruiser :dry: would have preferred a supermoto

I think the place where Maria and I wish we had the bike was when we toured Utah for a month, unfortunately we had five kids with us in a people carrier, it was amazing though. Our favourate place was a small town called "Moab" home to the "Arches National Park"
I can honestly say, "it is awsome" you are in the middle of an arid desert type area, but you can find things like sharks teeth as it used to be under the ocean!
We are lucky enough to have relations out there and me and the kids went bouncing over the desert in a jeep to a dinasour dig, the kids unearthed the end of what was a 5 foot leg bone.

It would have been amazing on the bike with Maria (and no kids)

For me there's a couple that spring to mind, the first being the Antrim coast road on our way back from the NW200 a few years back.

And the second was the road down the mountain to the coast from Paul Ricard circuit.

I reckon the place we went in the car when I would rather have been on the bike is Norway, but thinking about it Italy, Switzerland, Croatia would all be contenders to be honest at least when we go in the car its a soft top next best thing to being on the bike
