Supposed to be a video showing ... oh well here's the link
That looked more like a break in the road surface caused the crash rather that rider inexperience.
As he goes round the corner, there is a rip in the tarmac at least 8 foot long which his front wheel went into. His speed and positioning were fine. In my opinion, this isn't rider error.
Hi I just had a look at the vid (Ouch) I would of said if he had moved to nearer the center of the Rd, (as advanced riding teach), prior to the bend he would see further forward & the Vanish point & dodgy Rd he then could of moved out of the way possibly?

As for just wearing a t shirt just silly & lucky he went on earth.

Is this what motorcycling has become a leisure trendy thing rather than a mode of transport.[/quote]

Fraid so, for me at any rate.
2 reasons.
1.Main reason. I keep my bikes for years and don't want them dissolving in corrosion.
2. My old bones don't like the cold any more in spite of leccy clothes. I don't enjoy it any more if I am not comfortable.

Sad but true. Not trendy but definitely leisure. 30K miles in 3 years though without the Winters.

Ted.

I just wonder, if bikes where more cheaper, would it make a difference, I know in Asia the Rds are covered with loads of bikes some country's only allow 125 (Nam)

I don't think India does, but do have lots of bikes on the Rd, i wonder would it be because cars are so expensive? or bikes so cheap.

Im not anti car I have 1 for work paid by work, & for people with familys young or old ideal all family can go as 1 to somewhere.
A while a go I volunteered to tile out company Motorcycles, (BM F650GS), the Health & Safety Work told me it is, too dangerous! so the idea was scrapped.

I would love to see more people on the Rd on bikes, no matter size or style.

The lack of bikes on the roads is because they are not our first choice of transport,it's far easier and cheaper to just jump in the car,my mrs car does 70mpg at 75mph cost £20 A YEAR to tax and i can buy 4 tyres for it for £150 that will last 30,000 miles,it's a no brainer ain't it.

Because he knows how I wright & what I want to say, not being good with words in written the way it doesn't always make sense, so here go.

First no offence was meant, I know some wear taken, by you that don't know me. so sorry for confusion.

I was trying to say that these people who haven't ridden for some time, have what is known as skill fade = Rusty, (http://www.hfidtc.com/research/training ... l-fade.pdf my mate dig this out for me as example),This Fade is normal in us all unless we do something regally, i.e. at work we have every 12 month a Driving assessment. fade will happen
This could/can & do cause some accidents, besides the riders to ride like idiots. This is a concern to me.

I was trying to start a debate about the amount of or lack of riders in UK against other country's, & asking why is it bikes here are / or seem to be more of a toy than needed, for most of the population, some one said petrol for there bike was more expensive than a car really! I never really worked it out before.

Now my added bit

I Personally ride all year round unless Ice or snow, because that is my preference, I see no difference between me & another motorcyclist/Bikers, other than make or model, & with that comes the banter.
hope that is explained better

If you are going to use literacy as a form of communication it is fair to read it literally, so in your first two posts what was your point?

It's all about the price of fuel (relative to income). Lots of Indians could afford to buy cars but don't because they couldn't afford the petrol. When I lived in India I bought a new special edition Bullet 500. At about £1,200 on the road it was the most expensive and largest capacity domestic bike. The first question I was always asked by other bikers was what mileage do you get? At only ~70mpg they weren't impressed!! That's why they all ride 125 - 180cc bikes. Even a brilliantly efficient car would just be too expensive for most people to fill up on a regular basis.

Sounds quite aloof to me , Always reckoned motorcycling was for the free spirited , ride where you want , when you want and who gives a shit what colour yer jacket is , if it makes you happy then ride on man and mind your own business lol B)
