Finished off some work today, so thought I'd add a few more bits to the bike.
I started with the Blackbird XR tank graffix, as the Technocel ones were starting to lift on one or two edges; I've been sitting on these since Christmas, but only until recently have I been able to bend down to get them on.
**TOP TIP to keep the XR TIP TOP
Those with eagle eyes will notice the new gear lever, which sorted out the sloppiness of the OE one.
Before
After
Next was the Ricochet sump guard, which is a very substantial bit of kit, it looks like it would survive a Nuke attack, so fingers crossed trails shouldn't be a problem to it.
I've also discarded the twin helogen lighting set up that the bike came with in favour of an Acerbis unit; plus while talking front end, I've also gone for the Kriega haul loop.
Before
After
Attacking the rear ... Ooooh Matron! I've made an alloy number plate holder, and scored a tidy little led light from e bay, which I managed to hide up between plate and fender, another neat purchase was the rack, which will take my bag with camera, tools etc.
A couple of other bits were added before hand, I.E. the hand guards, as you'll see I've gone for white, as the original owner must have been Stevie Wonder [he had fitted yellow ones], and some nice new grips, the old ones were serviceable but minging, so all in all not a bad couple of hours work.
Last there will be a general tidy up, nuts bolts, that sort of thing, and I'm thinking about making up a pair of frame guards for the area around the swing arm pivot.
And when finished, she started after 8 or 9 kicks, not bad considering that it's my MO or fetish to run the carb dry before putting it away.. the last time I started it was about 6 -8+ weeks ago.

I have a 2000 on my KX , the original was like the XR with the straight front edge. The CR has a nice shape.mark1150 wrote:Thanks guys, GB for the greenie, and Tyrant for the advise, I'll google up the CR and see what they look like, what sort of year should I be looking at?
