I've just ordered a TKC-80 front to go with the Scout currently on the back. Anyone else running this combination? Just wanted something (even a little) better than the original Scorpion in loose stuff :side:

Hope it's still good on road as the Scorp was excellent, if a little odd once well worn.

Will let you know how I get on once it's on the bike :)

Stanbloke runs that set up and BeddowsM has had this for a long time - last ran a MEFO explorer with the TKC 80 front - I'm sure they will be along soon to clarify or put me right !!

I have now replaced my front K60 with a TKC80 keeping the Scout on the rear-the vibration and road noise is much better now and the handling on tarmac is fine, although starts to get a bit squirrely over 90..off road grip is better now too.

I have had that set up for the 5k miles or more. Its a great setup with no problems on the road and gave me more confidence off road until I hit the centre band on the K60

The MEFO Explorer does not have the band in the middle - more like the old K60s

Call me stupid but I'm gonna take the K60's to another level  I've booked myself and the 8 on a trackday at Snetterton :woohoo: Its been a few years since I done one, the last one was at Croix in France on an old tube frame Buell

I think that should cover all the situations you can put a tyre through. Its a day thats been organised by the BMW club (I'm not a member, but got invited) should be a good day as some mates from Holland are riding over to do it on their Buells as well :)

If you come back in one piece, GB, I'd be really interested to see how they perform when pushed. Good luck!

Not till June mate, so have time to get used to them, if not I can always cut across the gravel traps  Haven't ridden the new Snetterton track so should be fun.

Well the rear K60 now has over 8000miles on it and the front 3000miles, but as promised I stuck them on for a trackday at Snetterton, and yep they held up pretty well, had a slide or two when it was wet but in the dry they were fine. My mate had corsa3s on his 1125 and the Heidis were getting to the temperature as his was either wet or dry (he had one of them laser surface temperature readers) In all honesty the only place I find the K60s wanting is on wet grass and wet trails no feel at all then but, for longevity, road grip and dryish trails they are just about perfect :)
