Maybe you guys should tell Heidenau about this - when I contacted them regarding the appalling handling of my bike with their tyres and asked them what pressure I should be running at, they came back with the same as the manufacturers recommendations.

And that pic of the tyre on your rear bike looks to me like the 140 profile or have they changed the 150 profile? as the 130/140/150 are all very different with the 150 having the center band level from new and more wavy patern...

That's on the Wayfarer, not far south of Newbury, just off the A34.

They're definately 150's. Running at 25psi. Should probably have gone lower but don't think anything would have helped in that gloop!! Felt good on the road at that pressure too

Pressure is a fairly valid point and something I hadn't thought of ... Just been running with the KTM recommended figure.

What about the others with 990s? .... What pressure are you running the rear 150/70-18 K60 at on the road?

Vindy, I knocked 5psi off the front and rear, ride quality improved with no detrimental effect on road handling, probably better to be honest. I advised PaulC the same thing and he noticed an improvement on his GSA also. They are all motorcycles of roughly the same weight, my 8 is 200kg wet and 30 seems fine on the rear, try it and see is what I suggest.

I'm not sure what they would do though. They can't really say run at X pressure (apart from manufacturers recs) because of the potential liability issues if they've not tested them at those pressures etc.

Gonna stick a new front on tonight and been thinking, yes I know a BMW rider with thoughts of his own whatever next! We all know how stiff the sidewalls are on the K60s, so with a pair fitted could you honestly change a tube in the field, we've all seen the sidestand bead braking videos, but unless you had plenty of lube and full size levers etc I'd think you'd struggle, where with a tubeless you'd just plug it. Or is it that I'm fitting them in sub zero temperatures?

Do you think you could do it?

:unsure: Hmmm ... I think I could. I fitted that rear on the floor of my garage only using my new 'tyre kit' tools that I'd have with me on longer trips.
