Re: What bike to buy for £1500???

I bought a xtz750 tenere (she's not for sale) a couple of months ago to get back in the saddle and to see whether I would take to the adventure bike! Brilliant, she runs well, pulls like a train and gets admiring glances parked up next to the new gs1200's.

Great fun, easy to ride and fix!

Re: Location suggestions please - wild camping at either Glen Etive or Glen Orchy

Heres a suggestion, Ive just watched the weather forecast. The jet stream which has been sitting lower down the UK bringing all the wet weather is due to shift the end of this week and next to the NW of Scotland, take your water proofs!! :(

Keep the suggestions coming please - Tayvallich, lochs near Crief/Killin plus others mentioned have never been considered before - and all look great for future trips...

Thanks.

Re: XR400 OR DR350 WANTED

Better still get an xr600, cheaper than most of the 400's for sale!

Re: XR400 OR DR350 WANTED

I had until recently a dr350, I would get an xr400 if you can, a little more money but a better bike! I've seen some dr400 come in around the £1700 mark do that may be an option.

Re: Location suggestions please - wild camping at either Glen Etive or Glen Orchy

Ive never done the Applecross trip but its a popular route. That tells me its a nice run with something good at the end of it!

Im biased being based in Crieff, I was out today for a run, St.Fillans and Lochearnhead are really nice, loads of places to wild camp, the Lochs 6 miles long, a few ...

Re: Location suggestions please - wild camping at either Glen Etive or Glen Orchy

Looking for some suggestions and maybe google earth pointers/locations please.

Planning to go 'wild' camping next weekend 21st July - never been to Glen Etive and seen quite a few mentions also of Glen Orchy ( which I believe is on the road from Tyndrum towards Oban).

Who's been to either/both ...
