Re: Wild Camping - APPLECROSS

Is it me or is planning wild camping an oxymoron?

It's not the planning that's the oxymoron,I often plan my wild camps for hillwalking but I'm usually about a 4 hour walk from the nearest road. It's "wild" camping within walking distance of a pub that is the oxymoron.I can still remember ...

Re: Wild Camping - APPLECROSS

Thanks guys. I've just google mapped the place and there seems to be quite a few places close to the Applecross Inn itself and near toilets etc so I think we're good to go :-)

Will post pics after the ride :D

Wild Camping - APPLECROSS

Doing a fast-blast over to Applecross in October and planning on wild camping over there just for one night.

Can anyone suggest anywhere in the village or just on the outskirts to pitch up ?

There's only 2 of us so not a massive camping footprint.

Re: Anyone Done Morocco This Year (2013) ???

Going at Easter 2014 and doing the Chunnel then down through France and Spain and have been told to do the Algecirias - Tangier Med crossing (but that may change again depending on ease of travel)

Have been to Marrakech a few times so know / like the place but will also venture into the lower ...

Anyone Done Morocco This Year (2013) ???

Looking to ride down through France, Spain and then onto Marrakech in Morocco and looking for some recent info from 2013 travellers if available.

I have seen ride reports from 2010 but as things change quite quickly over there I was hoping for more up to date info and advice please.

Also any ...

Re: Normandy Beaches - Easter 2011.

It's £83 on the Fastcat Portsmouth - Cherbourg which works out about the same as Dover - Calais and then fuel to the gite so probably easier on the bum to do that :-) and allows us to chill on the ferry and abuse some cage drivers :-)

Whatever we choose to do I'll post up here with a breakdown of ...

Cheers Strada

Have sent an email to them.

50 euro's not bad (pretty good actually) for 3 nights.

Re: Normandy Beaches - Easter 2011.

Thanks for all this guys - it's really helpful.

Think I'll plan to take the tent but there's a couple of formule 1 hotels not to far away just incase it rains (or I become a soft a*se) and I want a warm bed for the night.

Looked at ferries - LD seem ok and run Newhaven Dieppe on a limited ...

Re: Normandy Beaches - Easter 2011.

cheers chaps.

I'm hoping the weather stays good and i think that camping will be the order of the day. would rather spend the euro's on food and fuel than give it to a hotelier :-)

I enjoy pics and will definitely do a write up when been and will also put up the costs etc once I'm done.
