Are you itching to strike out on your motorbike and explore the beauty of the UK, but don’t quite know where to go and which roads to ride?
Well, you’re in luck, because in the latest issue of Adventure Bike Rider, we’ve created two spectacular routes in England that you can ride this weekend.
How does cruising some of the UK’s finest coastal roads with superb views across the Atlantic sound? Or how about exploring twisting tarmac, gravel roads, and mountain passes on a tour of mining heritage in the North?
If you want a big hit of adventure in just one day, both of these routes are the perfect way to get it.
You can get both of these routes, complete with waypoints and GPX files for your SatNav, in issue 82 of Adventure Bike Rider, available here.

Embark on a shark spotting safari in Cornwall
You don’t need to go to Greenland or Botswana to see some of the world’s largest animals.
Instead, you can follow our Cornwall Shark Safari route, which explores hidden bays and secluded sands as it winds along the coast on a selection of excellent roads.
The aim of the game is to spot a basking shark, the second largest fish in the sea, reaching sizes of up to 40ft, which is about the same length as a double-decker bus.
This enormous example of marine life regularly feeds off the Cornish coast, so bring your binoculars and keep your eyes peeled.
But even if you don’t see any sharks (I’m afraid we didn’t), this route is a wonderful way to spend a day on a motorcycle, and at times it feels like you’re exploring the South of France more than the UK.
You can discover the full route for yourself, with SatNav waypoints and the GPX file, in the latest issue of Adventure Bike Rider, available here.
The Land of Oak and Iron
The British Isles are blessed with mineral riches, and its supplies of coal and iron, among other things, allowed the UK to become the first industrialised nation in the world.
But it was the people who worked in the mines, foundries, smelters, and factories who made this happen, and our country wouldn’t be anything like it is today without them
So, for this route, we ride across Northumberland, Country Durham, and Cumbria, discovering abandoned mines and industrial sites that tell the story of the people and places that powered the industrial revolution.
The route takes us on winding stretches of tarmac across barren moorland, through lush valleys and forests, and there’s also the chance to ride some spectacular green lanes.
Ride the Land of Oak and Iron and discover British mining heritage in the latest issue of ABR.
