Riding through the Elan Valley
The Elan Valley is a stunning location for motorcyclists, boasting excellent tarmac and one of our favourite green lanes.
Whether you want to ride fast and enjoy the twisties, tackle a stunning gravel road that skirts the edge of the reservoir, or relax and soak up the scenery, it’s a perfect destination for a ride.
We rode there as part of our UK route called The Spine of the Dragon, which you can find in the latest issue. You can also watch a video of the route below.

Exploring India’s Grand Canyon
Did you know that India has its own spectacular grand canyon that rivals its American counterpart in scale and beauty?
Armed with a Royal Enfield, plenty of patience, and a sixth-sense for avoiding bovine chicanes, tour operator Alex Pirie sets out to discover it for himself, and takes us along for the ride in his fascinating travel feature on page 90.
The youngest person to ride around the world
Bridget McCutcheon set off from her home in Wisconscin aged just 19 years old on a mission to become the youngest person to ride around the world on a motorcycle.
Three years later, she successfully completed her trip, earned herself a world record, and in the process, experienced an adventure that many of us could only dream of doing.
We spoke to her about her incredible story and all her favourite tales from her time on the road at the ABR Festival 2024, and you can read our full interview with her on page 62.
A sensational weekend tour of Scotland
In issue 83, not only can you follow The Spine of the Dragon across Wales, but you can also ride our Rebellion Road route through Scotland.
This two-day tour charts the course of the Jacobite Rebellions, from the initial uprisings after the Glorious Revolution to the bloody battles of Killiecrankie and Culloden, and the final place where Bonnie Prince Charlie set foot on Britain before he fled to France.
Along the way, the route takes you through the stunning Cairngorm National Park, along the shores of Loch Ness, across the sea to Skye, and on incredible roads under the shadow of the UK’s highest mountain.
You can discover the full route along with SatNav waypoints and a GPX on page 68 of issue 83.
Capturing Bolivia’s Altiplano
After 10 years of dreaming about exploring Bolivia’s Altiplano, the second-highest plateau on Earth, Simon and Lisa Thomas finally got the chance to visit. When they did, they wanted the perfect photo to capture the memory.
In our photography masterclass in issue 83, Simon describes how he took inspiration from an old BMW GS brochure and the camera settings and tricks he used to create his own version, which you can learn for yourself on page 46.
