There’s a new Yamaha Ténéré 700 in town, with a new 2023 model called the World Rally arriving to celebrate 40 years since the original Ténéré was released.
The new World Rally will come in an exclusive livery based off Stéphane Peterhansel’s 1993 factory bike that he raced to victory in that year’s Dakar Rally, along with a new two-piece seat and an exclusive Akrapovič slip-on muffler.
If you want to be the first to get your hands on one, you’ll have an exclusive chance to see and test ride the new Yamaha Ténéré 700 World Rally for the first time at the ABR Festival 2023 on 23-25 June at Ragley Hall, Warwickshire, so get your tickets today HERE before you miss out: 97% of tickets are already sold.
Along with the slick new paint job, muffler, and seat, the World Rally retains the premium KYB long-travel suspension (now in black!), the 23-litre side mounted fuel tanks, and Öhlins adjustable steering damper from the 2022 World Raid, and sits at the top of Yamaha’s adventure bike range which also includes the standard Ténéré 700, the Ténéré Rally Edition, and the Ténéré World Raid.
There’s also the 5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity for all your navigation needs, and three ABS modes: both wheels on, front wheel on and rear wheel off, and both wheels off.
Over 40 years of Dakar heritage
Adventure bike manufacturers are always keen to flaunt their Dakar heritage, but Yamaha’s rally success certainly stretches furthest back, winning the very first Dakar Rally in 1979 with the Yamaha XT500.
The XT badge continued on throughout the decades, appearing on the 1983 Yamaha XT600Z Ténéré, the iconic 1989 XTZ750 Super Ténéré, and finally the XT660Z, which was replaced by the current generation Ténéré 700 in 2019.
So, with almost continuous production of motorcycles based off Dakar-winning designs over 40 years, the new Ténéré 700 World Rally has all the credentials to be a truly globe-busting adventure bike.
You can get your hands on the new World Rally at the ABR Festival 2023 – there’s still time to get tickets today, just. But they’ll be sold out soon, so don’t delay any longer. Get your tickets today HERE.
