Adventure Detective
Ken is a serving and decorated Irish police detective. He knew diddly squat about motorcycles before being volunteered on to a month long intensive police motorcycle course as a fresh faced newbie over 35yrs ago. Ken has remained besotted eversince with motorcycles and adventure travel.
About 15 years ago he embarked on his annual holidays series of lone motorcycle adventures on a hastily prepped ,€500, RTW adventure bike , the envy of BMW & touratech engineers worldwide apparently.
You will see Ken is more of a people person than a scenery junkie or culture vulture. In more recent years he invites some of these people to share their video story with him via his Facebook.
His presentations will give you a brief and light hearted incite on how he deals with all manner of issues. From the reality and isolation of lone travel, to corrupt money seeking officials to finding last minute accommodation for you and your RTW bike and having a lot of craic and banter along the way.
Find out how he ended up flat on the floor of a central American customs office, became a live witness to the bloody activity of the central American drug cartels and stepped back in time going for an impromptu 4 x 4 spin into the wakan Valley in Afghanistan.
