In a bid to create the ultimate globe-busting adventure bike, Harley-Davidson has announced the release of the CVO Pan America, which is due to hit dealerships by the spring.
Billed as being ‘fully kitted out for extraordinary adventures’, Harley-Davidson has taken what is already an extremely capable motorcycle in standard spec, and lavished it with every optional extra you can think of, including a snazzy new paint scheme, to create the CVO Pan America.
For the uninitiated, CVO means Custom Vehicle Operations. It’s the name given to the top of the range and best equipped bikes in Harley-Davidson’s stable, and this is the first time the Milwaukee-based company has offered a CVO version of the Pan America.
First launch back in 2021, the original Pan America was Harley-Davidson’s first shot at making an adventure bike, and it certainly hit the target. After covering plenty of miles on one as a long-term loan bike here at ABR in 2022, I can say with confidence that it is one of the most comfortable and capable long-distance adventure touring bikes available today.

So, what can we expect from the new CVO Pan America model? Well, to begin with, you get all the good stuff you’ll find on the Pan America Special, which was the previous top-spec version of the bike.
Revolution Max 1250 engine
This includes the wonderfully punchy Revolution Max 1250 engine, the bike’s excellent semi-active suspension, and an adaptive ride height system that lowers the bike when it comes to a stop to help shorter riders get their feet down. This feature is becoming increasingly common on premium motorcycles these days, but Harley-Davidson was the first to do it.
But if you’re willing to dig deeper into your pockets for the new CVO Pan America model, you’ll get a bike loaded with accessories that makes it ready and willing to head off on an adventure around the world as soon as you are.
This includes a full set of aluminium luggage, a Sceamin’ Eagle quickshifter, LED spotlights, tubeless spoked wheels, and an aluminium bash plate, all wrapped up in a striking new red, white, and black paint scheme.
So, what you can expect to pay for the ultimate Harley-Davidson adventure bike? Well, often CVO models are accompanied by pretty hefty price tags (the new CVO Road Glide is £38,995), so I was pleasantly surprised to see the CVO Pan America priced at £23,495.
Sure, this is still a big chunk of change, but compares favourably to top spec offerings from the likes of BMW and Ducati.
And according to the team at Harley-Davidson, you won’t need to wait long for your new CVO Pan America as it’s due to arrive in dealerships ‘during the first quarter of 2024’.
