Lake District mini tour.....

Post by Sykesy »

Myself and Scilly decided on a weekend in the Lakes riding some great little roads with views that we could photograph.
My son RA-Luke was coming too, but his bike wasnt ready in time.
We did plan on 2 nights camping, but due to circumstances at home, i had to head back after one full days riding, one nights camping and 300+ miles.

Im not 100% cirtain of the places we rode thro, so hoping Scilly will post on here. I know Scilly got some helmet cam footage, so hoping to see that.

Enjoy! We certanly did!!

....the meeting place for breakfast at 8am in Skipton.....it didnt open till 11am!!

..so we headed on to Devils Bridge at Kirby Lonsdale....and was met by a Great sign!..

Once into the Lakes, we headed for Windermere for our route start. The route (roughly)...

Not sure where this was, but we stopped to brew up, and take in the views...

From Ambleside onwards, Scilly took us on some amazing roads! I know we did Wrynose pass and Hardknot pass...twice!! The following pics are before, on and after the passes.

...in bed, in the rain by 8pm!! No sleep listening to the rain all night. Up at 6am to cook breakfast, then pack up and off again.....

..and back over the passes back to Ambleside for coffee and hot teacakes!

I'll let Scilly tell you his tale of his brakes!!

Some AMAZING roads and views. Shame it was foggy, low cloud and raining most of the time, but a fantastic trip. Thanx Scilly for the tour.

The top two are Tarn Howes. My favourite place :)
Loving photos as usual, thanks.

No, most of them are just HDR. Usually 5 shots with varying shutter speeds, then layered on top of each other, and thats about all i did. HDR program i used on these is Dynamic HDR. Not overly keen on the results. Might re-do them in Photomatix.
