75BHP limit from 2015 - anyone else heard this?
I was at a local dealer today killing a bit of time and the sales lad was telling me about new legislation from 2015 whereby ANY new bike sold in Europe will have a maximum power limit of 75BHP!
He told me that the authorities are keeping a lid on it for now but that a man from the Department for Transport had visited yesterday to brief them on the plans.
I can't see any reason why he'd be winding me up as I know him well but I also can't think how this isn't out in the open already; or have I missed something?

I wouldn't bet against it being true anyway.
Having sold up in 2022 & retired from riding I’ve now made a return with a Fantic Scrambler.

I think you will find that that is for the U.S (already in place I believe), not Euro.

What would 75HP equate to? Obviously the R1 is more but what mainstream bikes would be comparable.

It's also not true about it bring in effect in the us. I have a friend who's a dealer in Florida and his best selling bike is a full power, 180bhp BMW s1000rr.
