Road Ride Out Registration.
Adventure Bike Rider Ride Out Information.
• Name of lead Rider – James691
• Name of TEC (Tail End Charlie) – GOG007
• Type of ride – ROAD
• Max number willing to lead. Any
• Approx time of ride departure - 09.00hrs depending on the Friday night!
• Approx mileage of ride – 128 miles
• Approx time of return – 17.00hrs
• Suggested ride details – Google Route
• Technical level of Ride – Novice
• Special Sections – I've been in the Yorkshire Moors a few times but I am no local expert - my rides tend to be ave pace and I like to mix in some photo spots of both natural and man made beauty. A tad of culture and a good feed will be on the cards as I like history to a place.
With that in mind I will be cutting across the moors back and forth looking for some the best bits that the park has to offer and things that I am interested in seeing. Plenty of smoke stops ( I gave up but I till stop for smoke, chat and piccies).
I use the 2nd man drop off system and I will explain the system before the ride out.
Here is what you can expect to see -
Rievaulx Abbey - ruins, always a good photo practice.
Byland Abbey - another ruin - all running down some fantastic country lanes
Boltby - Whipping past the picteresque town of Boltby
After this we are on the B1257 - listed as one of the best rides in the country. Past Scaling Dam to see if the little boats are out sailing. Then off on the wonderful twists and turns that lead past Egton.
We head down through the heart of the park and past Keldy Castle ( a Hamlet not an actual Castle) before coming to rest for some grub and beer at the rally site
