This made me think of 2 Wheels, helmet off, jacket unzipped and a pit stop, job well done moment. France, Rhone Alps South, on the N5 towards Geneva, overlooking Swiss Alps on the Horizon. Stunning views and excellant road... one day I'll go back

No chance of a piccy from me at the mo - as I'm on the road again - and I can't say I could have a meaningful guess at your shot either. But what a great thread question.

For me it certainly wasn't the carwash! I think it must have been me and my mate's first road trip to France - we must have been early 20s. We were both (and still are) lifelong bikers, but for some reason did that 2 week run in a car. Kicking ourselves at how easy it all was, we returned not long after in what was to be my first run down to Barcelona by bike (an old Honda nighthawk if I recall).

Those were the days - or at least some of them.

Mallorca 2010 in a hire car, got the wife to take this out of the window with her eyes shut.

nowhere really because the car is a tool for getting the kids to school and the bike is for going to all those great places.

i have done it the other way round though, ive been places on the bike that i thought the family would enjoy, and taken them in the car. last year brittany, this year will be the picos and northern spain

For many years I went to Ireland on fishing trips, overloaded van with too much tackle. :whistle:

Went back a few years ago on the bike with the missus, blinding. :woohoo:

So many great roads and places to see, but don't tell anyone, too many knowing would spoil it.

It does rain, but not in the pubs. :S

Far too many places but 2 distinct places spring to mind.......

(although I was very glad not to be on a bike when the sand flies start biting as soon as I got out the car!)
