Bike transport to and from Europe

I'm planning a trip through the Alps in May but I'm time poor so want to avoid spending two days getting there and two days getting back. Can anyone recommend or has experience with a bike transport company that can drop off and pick up (preferably at a hotel) up to six bikes.

No more expensive than a ferry to Spain or from Hull to the mainland, with car OR bike, it's all swings-and-roundabouts as to what will be saved; time, bike costs, hotels, energies et al that if one doesn't take the train...

I used it to take me, bike + wife to Narbonne some years ago and it worked well enough but that was back when it ran from Calais. To use it to go to the Alps when you have to start from Paris or somewhere in Germany is silly. You'd have got to your destination on the autoroute in about the time it took to sort out the paperwork at the Gare de Lyon.

There are companies around who will pick up your bike from your front door in a van and transport them to your destination of choice and with six bikes I'd have thought the price per bike wouldn't be so horrendous. There was a company local to me doing it (or so it said on the side of their van when I saw it around) but I haven't seen it for a year or so. Unfortunately I can't remember their name but I'll google around a bit later and see if I can find them.
